Bamboo Bathrooms was founded with the aim of bringing fresh and unique concepts and designs, without a massive environmental impact. The way we do this is by sourcing our Wood and Bamboo from sustainably managed forests.
Our Bamboo is grown in China, here are some of the benefits of using Bamboo below;
- Bamboo is a rapidly growing and a naturally renewable tree, like grass. It requires minor maintenance to farm as it doesn’t need any pesticides or herbicides and very little water to grow.

One of the biggest environmental benefits of bamboo is its ability to produce oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide. Compared to an equivalent mass of a tree, bamboo produces approximately 35% more oxygen and research has shown that bamboo can absorb as much as 12 tonnes of carbon dioxide per hectare per year.
- Bamboo also grows insanely fast, sometimes at a rate of 90cm per day, depending on variety. To grow to full maturity it only takes 1 to 5 years. This is considerably faster than the some of the fastest growing trees in the world.

There are over 1,500 different species of bamboo in existence.
- The tensile strength of steel is 23,000 PSI, while the tensile strength of bamboo is 28,000 PSI.
- Bamboo fibres are naturally anti-bacterial without needing any toxic chemical treatments, all thanks to its substance called ‘bamboo kun’.
